Fractions on a Number Line

The step that turns a fraction from a piece of pie into a number.

Mark the fraction

Put a dot on the number line to show each fraction.

Connect it to the game

Delivery Line is the game version: the bike rides from 0 to 1 and kids choose where to drop the cake. Stuck? Read our number line guide.

Questions

Why do kids find number lines hard?

They often count the tick marks instead of the jumps between them. A line cut into 4 jumps has 5 marks, so 1/4 gets read as 1/5.

Is the fraction game really free?

Yes. The whole game plays free in your browser, with no signup, no ads and no time limit. A Fraction Bakery app for iPhone is coming later, but the web game stays free.

Take the bakery with you, soon

A Fraction Bakery app for iPhone is on the way. The plan: offline play for the car, a parent report of which fractions have stuck, and the full bakery shelf of prizes. Until then, the whole game is free right here.
