Fraction Pie Worksheets

Three kinds of sheet, each with fresh numbers at a click.

Shade the pie

Shade 1/2, 2/3, 3/4 and more on fraction circles.

Name the fraction

Write the fraction shown by each pie.

Equal parts or not?

Decide whether each shape is cut into equal parts.

Why the equal parts sheet matters

“Three parts” isn't the same as “thirds”. Kids who skip this idea can count slices perfectly and still misunderstand fractions. The Oven Check game drills the same thing: a tray with unequal slices always goes in the bin.

Then let them play

Finished a sheet? Slice the Pie and Counter Orders use the same skill at game speed, and each fraction's page shows it four ways.

Questions

Which sheet should we start with?

Shade the pie, on halves, thirds and quarters. Move to Name the fraction once shading is easy.

What age are these for?

Halves and quarters suit 1st and 2nd grade; the higher levels suit 3rd and 4th.

Is the fraction game really free?

Yes. The whole game plays free in your browser, with no signup, no ads and no time limit. A Fraction Bakery app for iPhone is coming later, but the web game stays free.

Take the bakery with you, soon

A Fraction Bakery app for iPhone is on the way. The plan: offline play for the car, a parent report of which fractions have stuck, and the full bakery shelf of prizes. Until then, the whole game is free right here.
